A man was on trial for acquisition, possession, transport and importation of narcotics on Thursday October 10, 2024 in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin), indicates “L’Alsace”. He was arrested in Ottmarsheim in 2023 with more than 30 kg of cannabis in his motorhome.

A Spaniard appeared on Thursday October 10, 2024 before the Mulhouse court (Haut-Rhin) for acquisition, possession, transport and importation of narcotics. He was arrested on the highway in Ottmarsheim on July 15, 2023 by customs officers while he was driving towards Germany in a motorhome, reports L’Alsace Monday October 14, 2024.
A two-vehicle device
34,660 kg of herbal cannabis were discovered on board. The selling price of the goods on the retail market was estimated at €346,600. On the highway, an opener car preceded the camper van, the driver of which explained that he had been paid €6,000 to make the trip.
The court sentenced the accused to three years in prison with continued detention. The Spaniard will also have to pay a customs fine of €138,640 although he claimed at the hearing that he had agreed to transport the drugs to resolve his financial problems.
