In Switzerland, economic circles are fully involved in the debate on the supervision of artificial intelligence (AI). On Thursday, Innovate Switzerland, a group of companies, at the initiative of Microsoft, published a long position paper calling for the most prudent possible regulation of AI in Switzerland. Supported by the umbrella organization Economiesuisse, this study does not fully correspond to the expectations of the AlgorithmWatch association and even less of Foraus, who ask the legislator to go further.

Entitled “Regulating artificial intelligence with foresight”, the Innovate Switzerland report clearly calls for caution. For the lobby, it is necessary to maintain “technology-neutral and principle-based regulations in order to promote research, development and innovation in Switzerland”. Behind Innovate Switzerland are leading economic players: Microsoft is the founder, and companies like Nestlé, ABB, Elca, Axpo, KPMG, EY and Temenos are members.
