The music legend will be welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in October 2024. The nomination has been a long time coming and Cher hinted that she would be sure to acknowledge the delay of her induction ceremony.

Addressing Entertainment Tonight this week, the singer of Believe said: “I will have things to say. I will accept it as I accept myself.”

The star thanked his musical contemporaries, including: “David Geffen, my friend and the most wonderful person ever, and John Sikes, the guitarist for Thin Lizzy. »

Last December, Cher lashed out at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for not recognizing her career and accomplishments. During her appearance on Kelly Clarkson’s show, she got carried away: “You know what? I wouldn’t be there even if someone gave me a million dollars. I’m not kidding… They just have to go and see themselves… I changed music forever with Believe. »

Four months later, she was appointed. And Cher will be in good company for the 2024 ceremony. Singer Mary J. Blige, bands Dave Matthews Band, Kool & the Gang and Foreigner, hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest, musician Peter Frampton and frontman Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne will also be honored at the event on Saturday, October 19.
