Arrival of the quinté : 1 – 11 – 16 – 8 – 7
The American sulky is definitely fashionable and on everyone’s lips at the dawn of the next winter meeting on the Parisian dirt. It is with this one that Gard (n°1) had just won at Meslay-du-Maine (Mayenne), driven by Éric Raffin, and it was also with this coveted object that he doubled the stakes, this Saturday, on the The Prairie racecourse (Calvados) with, this time, François Lagadeuc at the controls.
The quickest to the signal, the son of Quid de Chahains directed the operations as he pleased before starting again in the final phase and winning hands down, to the delight of his trainer Franck Delanoë: “I was a little scared on the course; I thought he was doing it a little too much and that he had gone a long way. The straight is long in Caen but I take my hat off to its driver. It’s a horse that I often ran hidden but I realize that he ultimately likes to dominate. Éric Raffin could not be associated with him again but he told me that I was going to win again! »
He is clearly ahead Helios Somolli (n°11) and Kid from Mahey (n°16), starting from the second level. Consistently well placed, Goldy Smile (n°8) completes the arrival of the quartet and is ahead of the outsider, Gipsy Thoris (n°7).
