The Territorial Civil Service Management Center (CDG30) organized, this Thursday, October 10, 2024, a conference in Sainte-Anastasie on mental health at work, bringing together civil servants and territorial employers. This event, in the presence of Gilles Tixador, mayor of the town, and Fabrice Verdier, president of CDG30, aimed to break the silence around mental illnesses in the public service.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in four people will be affected by a mental illness during their lifetime. Aware of this issue, the CDG30 has been working for several years to better recognize these disorders in the professional environment and support public officials in their treatment.

The day was punctuated by interventions from experts, including Julie Jourdan, neuropsychologist at Nîmes University Hospital, Daniel Sartor, clinical psychologist, and Thierry Pradère, project manager at Aract . They addressed psychosocial risks and mental health issues at work. Feedback from agents of the Cèze Cévennes Community of Communes and CDG30 also enriched the discussions.

At the same time, collaborative workshops presented concrete tools to support public agents facing these disorders: stress management, prevention of psychosocial risks, management and communication.

Fabrice Verdier welcomed this collective mobilization and recalled that mental health is a crucial issue for the future of public service. “The choices of the coming years will be decisive for the public service model that we wish to defend,” he affirmed, while encouraging communities to innovate to better respond to these challenges, rather than simply putting up with them. He assured that CDG30 would continue to provide local authorities with the resources and support necessary to meet this major challenge.
