Unlike the hotel industry, campsites benefited from increased attendance, supported by the commemorations of the 80e anniversary of the Landing during the month of June. But the first 20 days of July showed signs of weakness, particularly in rental reservations, with drops varying between 5% and 20% depending on the establishment, while the occupancy rate of bare pitches remained rather good. August was as expected, while September saw a drop in attendance due to inclement weather. The presence of foreign customers, notably the Germans (still increasing), as well as the Dutch, British and Belgians, helped to offset the declines observed among French vacationers. As for Gîtes, Gîtes de (more than 1,030 gîtes and 120 guest houses) recorded 14,800 customer stays booked in 2024, marking an increase compared to 2023. The summer posted good rates of occupancy, with an average holiday rate in July and August of 87%.
