Dakar, Oct 10 (APS) – ASC players Jaraaf Cheikh Lo Ndoye and Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye, called up for the first time in the national A football team, say they are proud and honored to join the den.

Ndoye and Ndiaye were called up to the national team for the double confrontation against Malawi, Friday in Dakar and Tuesday in Lilongwe, counting for the third and fourth days of the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco (December 21, 2025- January 18, 2026).

”I feel joy and extraordinary pride. I always wanted to join the senior national A team. It makes me happy to be there. I followed Senegal’s last match on TV and it’s an immense joy to be part of the players this time,” Cheikh Lo Ndoye said.

He kept his clean sheets during the first and second preliminary rounds of this African competition.

For his club teammate Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye, the dream has always been to be part of the Senegal A team.

”It’s a pride and an honor. It’s a great pleasure for me. We received a wonderful welcome. The players immediately integrated us and made us feel at ease. They support us and give us advice in training,” said the 18-year-old right-back.

They invited the Senegalese public to come in large numbers to the Abdoulaye Wade stadium in Diamniadio on Friday to support the Senegal team for a victory against Malawi.

Senegal is placed in Pool L with also Burundi and Burkina Faso. The Lions are second in the standings with four points (+1), behind the Burkina Stallions who have the same number of points, but with a better goal average (+2).

The Burundians and the Malawians are respectively third and fourth in the group.

A double victory for the Senegal national team should ensure its qualification for the next edition of the CAN.
