As part of the national Pink October operation, the city of Saint-Jean is strengthening its commitment to the fight against breast cancer. On Wednesday October 16, a special day will be held at the Palumbo space, open to everyone. The objective: to raise awareness about screening and prevention of this disease which affects many women each year. This day will emphasize the importance of screening with practical workshops, including “I learn to examine myself”, allowing you to learn the procedures for self-examination on mannequins. The psychological aspect linked to the announcement of the illness will also be addressed, both from the point of view of the patient and the doctor, thanks to the intervention of health professionals and poignant testimonies. At the same time, workshops organized by the CPAM throughout the afternoon will inform and support participants in understanding prevention approaches. In addition, volunteers from the Dragon Boat Ladies Toulouse association will be present to present their activities, focused on the well-being of women with breast cancer through the practice of rowing. Finally, the mobilization extends to other local actors. The Saint-Jean Tennis Club has already contributed with a women’s doubles tournament and yoga introductions on October 6. The La Mosaïque gallery is also participating in the event with its exhibition “Girl Power”, visible until October 16.
The city’s commitment to this fight demonstrates a strong desire to raise awareness and support all people affected by breast cancer.
This day is free and requires registration at CCAS – 05 32 09 68.
