Dakar, Oct 10 (APS) – The Senegalese capital, Dakar, will host, from October 22 to 25, the 7th edition of the Galien Africa Forum under the theme ”Health and community actions in the face of climate and environmental crises in Africa” , the APS learned from the organizers on Thursday.

The event will see the participation of ”Nobel Prize recipients, political leaders, experts, researchers, students, political leaders, doctors, socio-anthropologists, biologists, innovators, investors, international organizations, civil society, private sector”, according to a press release of which the APS is aware.

It will be a platform for high-level scientific exchanges on issues of common interest and on the health priorities of the African continent.

The debates will revolve around themes such as ”leadership and artificial intelligence: catalysts for effective health actions in the face of climate and environmental crises in Africa”, the document states.

The experts and scientists will work on the themes: ”Young people and Innovations in the face of climate and environmental crises in Africa”, ”Place and roles of women in the face of climate and environmental crises in Africa?”.

The issues of climate change will also be addressed by the participants of this 7th edition of the Galien Africa Forum through the theme: ”Vulnerability risk factors and Adaptation of women to climate and environmental changes: Is Africa ready? ”.

The Galien Africa Forum “works to strengthen research and sustainable development through the sharing of experiences in the face of major public health issues”, recalls the press release.

The Dakar meeting will also reflect on the appropriate responses to these climate changes, in particular “Role of multisectorality in the response to climate change”.

In December 2018, Senegal hosted the first edition of the Galien Africa Forum.
