Truck drivers will have to be patient. Work on a bridge Lozere will force them to make a detour to get to the (and vice versa) for two months.

From Thursday October 10 to Tuesday December 10, 2024the Chapelle company actually carries out
repair and reinforcement work on the Ressés bridge, between Saint-Etienne-Vallée-Française and the Gard department, on departmental road 983. It is at a place called Cabrespic.

To go to Saint-Jean-du-Gard

“Given the nature of this operation and for the safety of those involved and
users, traffic restrictions are necessary,” underlines the Department of Lozère.

Thus, from Thursday October 10 at 8:30 a.m. until Tuesday December 10, 2024 at 5:30 p.m., traffic will be prohibited to all vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, 24 hours a day. The diversion route for all vehicles, set up by the Departmental Council services, will be ensured by departmental roads 983, 140 and 9 (Lozère) on the one hand and the departmental road 260 (Gard) on the other hand.

Another axis under construction

This work is in addition to that of another much more used route between Lozère and Gard. On the RN106, which crosses the Cévennesjust after Le Collet-de-Dèze towards La Grand-Combe.

Cracks have been seen on rocks above the road and work has been launched for an indefinite period. With the establishment of a work-study program.
