This weekend in Pontarlier, La Belle Époque absinthe from the La Valote Martin Sàrl distillery, located in Boveresse, was crowned with a prestigious gold medal in the white absinthe category during the 22nd Absinthiades. This event, which has become a must for absinthe lovers, brings together thousands of artemisophiles – enthusiasts of the famous green fairy – every year at the beginning of October to celebrate this legendary elixir.

Organized by the Association of Friends of the Pontarlier Museum, the Absinthiades are intended to be much more than a simple tasting competition. A true “absinthe Olympics”, they offer a program rich in activities which embraces all the facets of this emblematic alcohol. Exhibitions, conferences, meetings with authors, cabaret evenings, visits to distilleries and of course tasting competitions punctuate this weekend dedicated to conviviality and sharing.

The gold medal won by La Valote Martin is a resounding recognition of the ancestral know-how perpetuated in Boveresse. La Belle Époque, with its delicate aromas and subtle balance, was able to seduce a demanding and passionate jury, confirming the distillery’s place among the best producers in the region.

This award is not only a source of pride for the distillery, but also for the entire Val-de-Travers, the historic cradle of absinthe. Once again, local know-how shines beyond borders, helping to strengthen the heritage and reputation of this iconic spirit.
