Thursday, October 3, the community council of Center Morbihan Community (CMC), meeting in Naizin-Evellys, discussed in session what President Benoît Rolland described as ” vandalism tourism in the recycling centers « .

Have the perpetrators of these regrettable actions read the press? Or have others imitated them? The fact is that, Monday October 7, upon arriving at work in the morning, the agents of the Plumelin recycling center had the unpleasant surprise to find that the premises had been vandalized. It was through the roof of the building which houses their office that the criminals entered, removing the sheet metal.

Left with… toilet paper

As the president pointed out during the last council meeting last Thursday, the perpetrators did not come to steal valuable objects, since they left with… toilet paper, paper towels and coffee. » On the other hand, indicate the elected officials of CMC, they left the water from the tap running, by blocking the sink, and by also opening the shower head, placed on the floor. The agents found 5 cm of water in the office which they try to keep in pleasant conditions for their work. “Even more, the perpetrators pulled the pin out of the fire extinguisher and sprayed everywhere with foam.

Soon cameras?

Employees at the recycling center spent the entire morning cleaning the premises. CMC technical services were responsible for repairing the roof. This is the second time this recycling center has been vandalized this year, but in a month and a half. The Saint-Jean Brévelay recycling center underwent the same treatment, during the same weekend, but with less damage. »

On the other hand, elected officials specify, this is the 8th time that this has happened at this recycling center, in 2024. “We will undoubtedly be obliged, as we said, during the community council, to install cameras and projectors . “
