One of the future lines of the Grand Paris Express reduced by one station project. Initially composed of nine stations, the 27-kilometer route, which should connect Saint-Denis Pleyel (Seine-Saint-Denis) to Mesnil-Amelot (Seine-et-) by 2030, will ultimately be composed of eight stationsas the president of the Société du Grand Paris (SGP), Jean-François Monteils, indicated to 3.

A contested line

The public establishment, responsible for building this immense construction site, decided to abandon the station project relating to the terminal 4 from Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport, located on the edge of the Seine-Saint-Denis et Seine-et-Marne. “The T4 project was abandoned,” said the head of the SGP.

This station was to integrate the northern route of line 17. The section, which will connect Le Bourget (Seine-Saint-Denis) at Mesnil-Amelot, will stop at Dugnyau Blanc-Mesnilhas (Val-d’Oise), at Tremblay-en-France (Seine-Saint-Denis) and in Roissy (Val d’Oise), where he must serve as correspondent with the RER B.

Thus, it is the extension of the southern axis, located on part of the ligne 16. This 6 km connection connects Saint-Denis Pleyel to Le Bourget, via -Six Routes (Seine-Saint-Denis). Its entry into service should take place in 2026, according to the SGP, two years before the first connections between Le Bourget and the Tremblay-en-France Exhibition Centre. Finally, the last part leading to Mesnil-Amelot should take place in 2030.

In the sights of several environmental associations opposed to the urbanization of agricultural plains, line 17 remains controversial. Despite appeals, the administrative court gave the green light to the work. The SGP defends a project which “will benefit 565,000 Ile-de-France residents”, as it had made known in 2021, according to comments reported by The Parisian.
