Niokhete (Bambey), October 5 (APS) – The cleaning and beautification of school establishments contribute to improving the study environment for students, declared Saturday, the Minister of Microfinance, Social and Solidarity Economy, Alioune Dionne.

He spoke at the elementary school of Niokhete, a village in the commune of Ngogom in the department of Bambey where he launched the activities of the 5th national cleaning day (Sétal sunu reew), dedicated to educational establishments.

The opening of classes is a context to devote the day of human investment to the beautification of educational establishments through weeding, cleaning of classrooms and green spaces, said Mr. Dionne.

The minister specified that these activities will also make it possible to materialize the “ubbi tey jàng tey” concept while putting students and teachers in excellent working conditions.

Alioune Dione praised the mobilization of the populations and the educational community for the success of this very important day for the authorities.

He asked school directors to take stock with his chief of staff on the state of the situation in schools in order to make the necessary corrections, in conjunction with his fellow ministers.

The Minister of Microfinance, Social and Solidarity Economy also called on local authorities to strengthen their interventions in education and health, which, according to him, constitute “the two pillars for quality human capital.”

The various state services, populations and stakeholders in the education system took part in activities throughout the Bambey department, under the coordination of the deputy prefect.
