This year, the 17e edition of the Glières Rally – an event which highlights the resistance of yesterday and today – will be held on May 10, 11 and 12 in Fillière (delegated commune of Thorens-Glières) and on the plateau of the same name.
As usual, the opening evening will consist of two screenings at the Le Parnal cinema and a play at the Tom-Morel room.
Debates, conferences, testimonies
The next day, it’s time for meetings, debates and conferences in the heart of the village. On the program in particular, an intervention by Edwy Plenel (journalist) on the subject of public freedoms, another by François Ruffin (journalist and elected official) and Gilles Perret (director) on the subject of hope or even an environmental and feminist section recalling that resistance today concerns many areas. Among other highlights.
Finally, the third day will take place on the Glières plateau and will see several current resistance fighters take the floor to give their testimonies.
“In these times when freedom of expression is more threatened than ever, this year’s festival will have particular interest and resonance,” assures Benjamin Joyeux, member of the organizing association.
