Wanted for attempted murder and other serious crimes, a 38-year-old Swiss man, on the run since the end of August, was arrested in Naples. Located thanks to cooperation between Swiss and Italian authorities.

A 38-year-old Swiss man, wanted for attempted murder in particular, was arrested in Italy. He escaped from prison at the end of last August, Italian justice said on Saturday.

According to the Italian press agency ansathe man was the subject of a European arrest warrant for attempted murder, aggravated bodily harm, theft, insults, damage, home invasion and violence or threat against a public official. Swiss authorities had requested urgent cooperation to stop him.

Investigations, carried out by the Italian police, in particular the unit responsible for the search and capture of dangerous fugitives at the international level, made it possible to locate the man in Secondigliano. He was arrested in a van near Capodichino airport in Naples. (tib/ats)
