A new headache to come in transport? In a post on social networks, the FNAUT (the Association of Transport Users) revealed this Sunday, May 5, 2024 that the ticket purchased inside the buses of the Île-de-France Mobilités network would be upgraded to five euros each for the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Information confirmed this Monday by IFDM at Paris news. From July 20 to September 8people who buy a ticket inside the buses during this period will have to pay the sum of five euros.

Several ways to avoid paying full price for tickets
This increase corresponds to the stated desire of Valérie Pécresse and IDFM to “finance the reinforcement of the transport offer linked to exceptional flows of travelers”. In the metro, the ticket will increase to four euros.
A rise in prices which will not concern the five million subscribers to the different subscriptions (Navigo, Imagine R, etc.). To prevent Ile-de-France residents who do not have a season ticket from paying full price for tickets, IDFM points out that several solutions exist.
The first is subscribing to Liberté +, which allows you to pay 1.73 euros for your ticket. Then, it is possible to simply buy your transport tickets before July 20. But also, during the competition, to load “up to 30 t+ tickets onto your Navigo Easy pass or smartphone” which will remain at the current rate.
