Since 2014, the Bessegeois association Les Marrons givrés has organized the craft beer tasting festival, Gard à la beer. This major event was created to energize the territory of the Cèze valley, to introduce quality local products to the general public and to reach out to as many people as possible by highlighting the values of conviviality and sharing. .
Happy news, the 8th edition will take place on May 31 and June 8. Thanks to an entirely voluntary organizing team, and through the development of partnerships with local stakeholders such as MI.A.OU, the social and cultural center of the Cèze Valley, the Faut l’fer and Watt the festivals. Funk, and of course the municipality of Bessèges, the concerts, activities and shows, with a very eclectic artistic program, will be free. Only tastings will be chargeable.
Prioritize the presence of women in all areas
Since its creation, because it seemed obvious to the organizers, the festival has been fully part of an eco-responsible approach: setting up selective sorting of waste on the site, reusable tableware, installation of dry toilets, decoration using materials recycled/recovered, as well as particular attention to the cleanliness of the premises after each edition.
It is therefore not surprising if, from the launch, the public was there at Place de la Révolution and if they remain faithful to each edition, with an average of 1,500 visitors over two days, now welcomed in the Jacques-Espace Frizon de Foussignargues.
The park offers a rural setting and allows exhibitors and the public to camp on site. This eighth edition has been called the “pluriElles edition”. Faced with the observation of a still too flagrant under-representation of women in the region’s demonstrations, the Marrons givrés have decided to favor the presence of women in all areas: more brewers, more musical artists, more circus artists, more creators and producers…
