Convention between Morocco and the UAE

It was at the Hall of the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat that an agreement was signed this Friday, October 4, between the National Music Committee and the Al Fujairah Academy of Arts. This agreement marks a new stage in the development of cultural exchanges between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration is part of a series of initiatives already put in place by the two countries, which have made culture a true bridge of union between their peoples. By working hand in hand, they aspire to promote the arts and enrich their respective cultural heritage.

Music, a true universal language, has since the dawn of time served as a link between peoples and constitutes a form of expression when words fail. Aware of this power, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates reaffirm their commitment to making culture a vector of dialogue and rapprochement.

On this occasion, Naim Chmaou EL Fihri, Lawyer and SG of the National Music Council (CNM), expresses his enthusiasm at the microphone of Hespress FR : “Today, we gather here with immense joy and great pleasure to celebrate a milestone moment: the signing of the convention between Morocco and the UAE regarding a prestigious award, often awarded to celebrities from around the world. This initiative, which was recently honored in the Emirates, is now anchored in Morocco, a choice which testifies to the commitment and love we have for our culture and our heritage”.

This moment, which is intended to be a springboard for artists and musicians from diverse cultures, will now be a showcase of our creativity and our diversity, declares Chmaou El Fihri. “Through this event, we will continue to illuminate the international cultural landscape, building bridges between cultures and celebrating art in all its formss,” he adds.

In this regard, our interlocutor salutes the hard work of President Wafae Bennani, whose determination and passion were essential to bring this agreement to fruition. “I also thank Professor Ali Obeid, in charge of culture in the United Arab Emirates, who warmly welcomed us to Al Fujairah and who shares our vision of a culturally connected world”, he reiterates.

Lawyer and passionate about culture, Chemaou El Fihri maintains that “This partnership not only symbolizes the friendship between Morocco and the Emirates, but it also illustrates our desire to persevere and shine on the international scene. We are proud to represent our country with elegance and determination, and this renewed agreement on our Moroccan soil is an important step towards this goal.”.

In fine, “Hand in hand, the two brotherly countries continue to build bridges between our cultures and celebrate our common heritage. May this event be the spark that will further illuminate our cultural exchanges and future collaborations”, he concludes.

At the microphone of Hespress FR also, Wafae Bennani, president of the national music committee and member of the CNM, official partner of UNESCO, expresses her pride: “It is with immense enthusiasm that we gather today to celebrate the signing of an agreement which marks an important turning point in cultural cooperation between Morocco and the UAE.”

In detail, she reveals: “It is essential to emphasize that this convention is not limited only to the organization of the Ziryab festival, which has already aroused great interest and was crowned with success during the Al Fujairah meetings in January 2024. This ambitious partnership includes in reality several aspects of culture and the arts, aiming to strengthen our exchanges and enrich our artistic dialogues”.

And to add: “We have been thinking about how we could expand this collaboration, and we are delighted to announce that we will develop other activities together. These initiatives will promote cultural diversity, encourage creativity and bring added value to our two countries.”

In conclusion, the president of the national music committee assumes that “this convention represents a valuable opportunity to highlight our common heritage while celebrating the uniqueness of our respective cultures. This collaboration is a model of success and inspiration for other initiatives internationallye”.
