The last legal appeal against the Portes du Tarn has just been withdrawn by France Nature Environnement Occitanie Pyrénées. The decision of this environmental association follows that of the Saint-Sulpice Active et Citoyenne association which withdrew its decision for the same reason at the beginning of April.
These appeals concerned the exemption from the destruction of protected species requested by the communities throughout this 198 hectare industrial park. An improvement for the Portes du Tarn which are now able to market plots of 2 to 20 hectares with direct access to the A 68. This business park aims for strong job creation with 18 jobs expected per hectare or about 2,200 in total.
The period is particularly good for this site located in the communes of Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe and Buzet-sur-Tarn. The activity zone received a boost from the State in mid-April, being classified among the six sites in Occitanie labeled “France 2030 turnkey sites”. The establishment of new companies should be announced in the coming weeks.
