“Are you getting through it? » or how to have fun safely at night

How to party at night and get home safely. This is the theme of the national prevention campaign launched on Monday aimed at young people who love nightlife. This awareness is broken down into three pieces of advice: ‘think, stay, help’.

Night parties are often a ‘must’ for young people. But often, they are the scene of insults, harassment, threats and physical violence which can go as far as serious offenses such as rape or stabbing, underlines the Swiss Crime Prevention (PSC) in a press release. .

The ‘Are you coping?’ campaign aims to ensure that no party evening turns into a nightmare. Carried out in collaboration with the cantonal and municipal police forces, it is aimed at all those who like to go out, i.e. potential perpetrators, victims, third parties and witnesses.

The campaign provides three pieces of advice, expressed in English: ‘You better think’, ‘Stay together’ and ‘Help if you can’ (www.tutensors.info) . Concretely, this involves maintaining control over yourself as much as possible, avoiding being completely drunk, keeping an eye on each other’s drinks, organizing returns or helping a person who is harassed or in distress. . Faced with a risk of escalation, do not hesitate to call the police on 117.

On its home page, the PSC reminds us that the only person responsible for an act of violence is the one who commits it. The victim is not guilty. The national campaign will be visible on posters and coasters. The actions will take place in well-attended locations until June 28.
