“We can only smile”: in Aveyron, the Baraqueville fair attracted more than 50,000 visitors!

The annual meeting was once again a great success this Sunday, May 5 in mild weather.

This is called passing between the drops. While the rain has taken its hold in our department recently and is expected to fall again today, the sky was clement for Baraqueville this Sunday, May 5. Pleasant temperatures, sometimes sunshine, all that was needed for the traditional agricultural fair to return to its greatest successes of yesteryear. And above all an impressive crowd, in which you often had to jostle to make your way and discover the approximately 600 exhibitors of the day.

Coming from all over France

Hold on tight, according to the organizers, the village merchants’ association “VousNous”, the bar of 50,000 visitors has even been crossed! “We can only smile,” Anaïs Blanc and Damien Rey, who managed the event alongside 80 volunteers, did not hide it. Up at dawn, some even had to hastily add stands for peddlers coming from all corners of France and even from the North for the most distant ones. This shows the success of the event, which is said to be the largest style fair in the region… This year especially, it wanted to reconnect with its initial side: agricultural.

A mini agricultural show

While there were always sellers of everything from magic cloths to anti-stress bracelets and more, the focus was mainly on agricultural equipment. And breeding more generally with a Raymond-Lacombe space transformed into a mini Agricultural Show for a day and punctuated by various competitions. And as organizer Damien Rey perfectly summed up at the end of the day, “we must give back to this agricultural community everything it brings us throughout the year!” »… This year, perhaps more than ever.
