Banjul, May 5 (APS) – The statement by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye who renewed Senegal’s ”unwavering support” for the ”legitimate demands” of the Palestinians during the 15th OIC Summit reflects what has always been Dakar’s position on this issue, said Senegalese Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Yassine Fall, on Sunday.

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye declared that Senegal is “particularly concerned by the catastrophic situation in Gaza”, denouncing “the indifferent view of the international community”, “the inertia of the UN Security Council” and the “inertia of the UN Security Council”. disregard for the most basic humanitarian rules.

”The statement by President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye has always been Senegal’s position of yesteryear. ”So, according to her, Senegal has always had a principled position regarding the protection of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. So this is what President Bassirou Diomaye Faye reaffirmed in his statement.

Yassine Fall underlined that during her intervention at the ministerial session, she condemned “the ongoing genocide in Gaza” and reaffirmed “Senegal’s commitment to working towards the realization of actions for the two-state solution.” ‘.

”An independent Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital living side by side with Israel, in peace and security with internationally recognized secure borders,” she said.

She also recalled having reiterated ”Senegal’s anchoring in the defense of the Palestinian cause and its unwavering commitment to the implementation of its mandate at the head of the United Nations Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People ”.

According to the Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, ”Senegal is resolutely committed to working towards peace, stability and development within the OIC and beyond”.

She noted that in many countries, in the United States and France in particular, universities “are seething” for the Palestinian cause. ”So I think the OIC and the Islamic Ummah must take a stand towards the Palestinian people,” she argued.

The Senegalese minister also recalled that the OIC was created to place the Palestinian question on the table of the international community in order to find solutions.
