A giant puffball weighing 5 kilos found in Moselle

A young Mosellan found a giant mushroom this Wednesday, October 2 afternoon, in the Phalsbourg area: it isan impressive 5.7 kilo puffball.

The image was shared by his father on social networks, on the enthusiast group page “Moselle mushrooms“.

It is during a walk with a friend that the young Mosellan made this discovery, quite rare: “ He sent me a photo for identification, and I asked him to take it home. Unfortunately he is no longer good at heart” comments Laurent, his dad. It is therefore too late to eat it as an omelette.

Apart from this extraordinary specimen, which measures 83 centimeters by 43, the young Mosellan took the opportunity to bring back other rather appetizing puffballs. They were distributed to the young picker’s entire family.
