On the menu for this first “Terroirs”, a large market which will bring together around thirty producers on Saturday August 23. They will offer their AOP, IGP or Valais brand certified products for direct sale, the State of Valais indicated this weekend in a press release.

A series of workshops is also offered. Enough to learn the art of scraping with Eddy Baillifard, of creating marinades with chef Aline Ménétrey or even of pairing wines and cheeses with Johanna Dayer and Claude Luisier, the essential refiner on social networks.

Concerning the guests of honor for this first edition, the choice fell on the canton of Jura “in order to strengthen the links established last year on the occasion of the Saignelégier National Horse Market-Competition, and on the Aosta Valley, with which Valais shares many similarities,” underlines the canton.

“Iconic” products

At the large market, visitors will also find “emblematic” products from the Jura and Aosta Valley regions. The two regions will also each offer a workshop, the theme of which has not yet been revealed.

On Friday August 23, the organizers are offering a “tavolata” for one hundred guests. Registrants will be able to taste a menu concocted by chef Aline Ménétrey using products from the three regions.

The State of Valais is launching this new event in collaboration with agricultural inter-professional associations and Valais/Wallis Promotion.
