Indeed, following a technical update of the telephone switchboards, a change has occurred in the way in which the emergency services contact citizens. From now on, when they try to contact you after an initial call, “their numbers will be identified on your phone as 0800 112 112”.
A new call number for emergency services
This number should be monitored closely, as it is an official line. “This is not a malicious or commercial call, but that of an emergency service,” insist the authorities. The Gard gendarmes therefore call for vigilance: this number, which centralizes call returns from the emergency services, must be taken very seriously.
