In the photo we can see two weapons, one, a real Beretta 9mm and the other the airsoft pistol

The replica of the Beretta projecting plastic balls propelled by a cylinder of compressed air is hidden in the handle. In our test photo, the real Beretta 9mm weapon is on the left, on the right, the replica, the same one that appears in the second photo, would you have guessed it?

Even the two weapons side by side and seen up close, it is possible to misunderstand them. Imagine for a citizen, a paramedic or even a police officer at a distance of 10, 30 or 100 meters, while for police officers, risks and decisions are made in micro seconds.

Guns get a bad rap and yet

It’s easy to give guns, whether rifles or rifles, a bad rap.

However, hundreds of Drummondville residents own firearms. All these owners agree to say, like Stéphane the owner of a 9mm weapon, that “it is not the weapon that is the problem but rather… the person behind it or its improper storage or use”.

The media report rare and distressing events like the one that occurred today or with dramatic and much worse consequences of course, and with good reason, but the owners of recreational firearms, soft air enthusiasts or collectors remain an enormous majority who use them properly, safely and in appropriate places and legally.
