Every year, in the spring and fall, the City of Quebec distributes free trees to citizens who wish to contribute to increasing the canopy.
From 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, six species of trees will be offered to citizens: Red maple, decorative crabapple, Japanese lilac, American linden, English oak, Virginia creeper (only at ExpoCité).
Interested parties can visit six distribution points across the city.

also indicated the City.
The tree must also be planted on the territory of Quebec City. The City also offers guidelines for properly planting the tree on its website. In particular, she suggests installing a tutor and a harness for the first year.

The City recommends digging a hole twice as wide as the pot or root ball and of the same depth.
