PSG in Taverny (Val-d’Oise)! This is reminiscent of an April Fool’s joke launched by the municipality of Taverny on the 1st^is April 2023 regarding the possible construction in Taverny… of a new 100,000-seat residence stadium for the Parisian club.

“I would love to!” But I have a problem with hectares,” smiles Florence Portelli, mayor (Lr) of Taverny.

So this will remain a good joke. On the other hand, what is serious is the announced arrival in Taverny of the PSG Academy thanks to the Urban Soccer project which is to see the light of day on the so-called rugby field, near Pontalis Park.

Detect talents

“The PSG Academy is PSG which identifies talented young people. It’s also a training center,” explains Florence Portelli.

Detecting futures Luis Fernandez, Nicolas Anelka, Kingsley Coman or Presnel Kimpembethis is the ambition of the PSG Academy, which was created in 2005 and is aimed at girls and boys aged 4 to 17.

Football courses and school

Detection is carried out in each Urban Soccer center (5 against 5 football). The academy therefore offers training courses and a football school, which has nearly 10,000 registered students, making it the largest football school in France.

In almost twenty years, the football academy has spread almost everywhere in Urban Soccer centers.

The PSG Academy has around thirty sites in France including that of Athletica (formerly Cdfas) in Eaubonne where 8-a-side and 11-a-side football is played.

A new center should therefore open its doors in Val-d’Oise, in Taverny, in the future Urban Soccer. We don’t know the date yet.

One day at the PSG training center?

Every year, the best players from different categories of the PSG Academy meet at the training center now in Poissy (Yvelines) and no more Saint-Germain-en-Layeduring the “Training Experience”, a training session placed under the watchful eye of observers from the training center. The best ones will perhaps one day join the Paris Saint-Germain training center.

A prospect that excited Florence Portelli. This football fan and unconditional Paris Saint-Germain fan even recognizes that “this is also one of the reasons why we are bringing Urban”.
