Saturday September 28, 2024, the municipal children’s council invited the inhabitants of the commune of Grandes-Ventes (Seine-Maritime) to join them in front of the town hall to clean nature.
This operation had the theme “Make a nice gesture for nature. Lend a helping hand near you.”
Intervene in the living environment
It is Alicia Leclercresponsible for the Narcisse Dupré media librarywho was in charge of organizing the operation. She has been the representative of the municipal children’s council since its creation.
During its election in November 2023, the municipal children’s council exposed his program in which there was a desire to intervene in the living environment of the people of Ventois, particularly in terms ofecology.
This commitment is now respected.
Hunting for waste
The operation Let’s clean up naturesponsored by the Leclerc center in Neufchâtel-en-Bray which provided everyone with gloves, bibs, and waste collection bags, brought together around forty participants.
After the briefing presented by Séverine Henrydeputy in charge of youth and education, everyone left for the waste hunt on the neighborhoods.
On the return, the waste was weighed before sorting the waste selectively and then depositing it at the local recycling center. The town is well maintained by the municipal services of the roads. And yet, 86.8 kg of waste of all kinds were collected in just over two hours.
Alicia Leclerc announces that in a meeting with deputy mayors, the one-year extension of the mandate of the members of the municipal children’s council, initially planned for 12 months, was recorded.
To close the event, participants gathered to share a friendship glass in the association room.
Near Neuville-Ferrières
A few days earlier, it was the third time that hikers from Rural home of Neuville-Ferrièresnear Neufchâtel-en-Bray participated in the “Clean up nature” operation. This took place from Friday September 27 to Sunday September 29 at the national level.
On a beautiful sunny day, 25 walkers set off on the paths of Neuville to clean them. Catherine Cristien, the secretary of the Home, had provided trash bags, gloves and chasubles to anyone who wanted them. Along the way, some plastics, glass and plastic bottles and strings were collected.
This walk was also an opportunity to check if the paths are passable because Gérard Bellet is charged by the Community of communes Bray Eawy to monitor 135 km of trails with his acolytes.
That day, a tree fell across a path following the gust of wind that raged during the night. On returning from the walk, the walkers took a break in the Foyer rural to enjoy sweets and drinks brought by participants and the president of the Foyer rural, Loïc Levasseur.
