The month of May in Tourcoing: great outings while waiting for the Voice Festival

Fortunately, the Chotteau company offers two series of performances, The promise of dawn, adapted from the novel by Roman Gary. Here, it is a single on stage presented by Franck Desmedt, Molière for best supporting role for Farewell Mr. Haffman, who embodies all the characters in the novel around the theme of childhood and maternal love. For the eyes especially at night. May is the month to show off. You have a little less than two months left to enjoy the exhibition on the Impressionists at the MUba Eugène-Leroy, in conjunction with the Musée d’Orsay. For that, Museum night, the 18th is a very good occasion. The MUba will be open free of charge from 6 p.m. to midnight with workshops and activities.

Concerts will be offered in connection with the Grand Mix, and a mapping will be presented. The Hospice d’Havré, which hosts contemporary variations around the Impressionists until May 26, is participating in this night. Still for a night at the museum, as part of the exhibition dedicated to Fares Cachoux, the Arab World Institute is offering a Syrian night with artists in exile (dance, buzuq, oud) at the same times as its colleagues.

Don’t think that the music will leave your ears just because it’s the month of May! And we attack with the Nubiyan twist proposed by the Jazz club at the Grand mix, on May 15. Around ten young English musicians and singers offer music with infectious energy between jazz, funk, afro-groove, in short in a joyful, explosive mix. Still for the Jazz club, it is the former co-leader of Poni Hoax who also signed the title Bird by Bertrand Belin, saxophonist Laurent Bardainne will be on the stage of the Jazz club at the Grand mix with his quartet, the 30.

Danyel Waro from Reunion at the Grand Mix

The Grand Mix scene doesn’t take much rest. One of the living legends of Reunion music will be in Tourcoing on May 17. The essential Danyel Waro is an expert in maloya but also in the poetry of words that he knows how to put to music better than anyone. A must-have of the season. On May 12, place at The KVB who marked the stage for the 20th anniversary of the Grand Mix. We will also be treated to Belgian-Canadian psychedelic rock from Gothwomanthe 21st, the Belgian post-punk of Whispering soundson the 31st.
