A dream came true for siblings from Outaouais. After twenty years of constant purchasing of lottery tickets, the Desmarais family became millionaires. The group made up of three sisters and two brothers shared the April 24 Lotto 6/49 jackpot, amounting to five million dollars.
It was after hearing on television that the winning ticket had been sold in Gatineau that Jean-Marc Desmarais, the youngest in the family, quickly went to a retailer to check his ticket.
It is surprising! You will never think that one day you would have the chance to win the million.
Several family members explained that with the money earned, they want to help their children and spoil their grandchildren.
This is the case of Jean-Marc Desmarais, who intends to move into an apartment and offer his current house to his son. My son was emotional when we told him we were giving him the house
he says.
Despite the money earned, the youngest of the family reveals that he does not intend to quit his job.
The prize was awarded Tuesday during a press conference at the Casino du Lac-Leamy.
According to the spokesperson and director of media relations at Loto-Québec, Renaud Dugas, this is the second time this year that the classic Jackpot has been awarded to Quebec.
