Mers El Kheir (Témara) – Preschool education in the Skhirat-Témara prefecture has received strong support from the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), giving rise to a strong boost in efforts aimed at supporting and promoting it. generalize, with a view to encouraging the schooling of children, particularly in rural areas.

Through the creation of units dedicated to preschool, the INDH aims to support the schooling of children in rural areas, to invest in this category, from an early age, by offering the appropriate conditions capable of guaranteeing widespread access to children. of school age in educational establishments.

This support materialized in particular through the opening of two preschool education units at the Oqba Ibn Nafia school, in the rural commune of Mers El Kheir, an initiative reflecting the determination of the INDH to strengthen access to schooling in rural areas and to offer children quality education, while raising awareness among populations of the importance of education for the future success of their children.

In a statement to MAP, the head of the Social Action Division (DAS) in the Skhirate-Témara prefecture, Ouassila Belkasse, explained that these two units, equipped with educational tools, school supplies and books , are made up of four rooms and welcome 100 children aged 4 to 6 years old during this start of the school year.

Preschool education aims to develop children’s semantic skills, she added, affirming that one of the main objectives of the INDH is to support the child in their educational journey to guarantee successful integration into the school system.

In a similar statement, the regional manager of the Moroccan Foundation for the Promotion of Preschool Education (FMPS), Abla Fatima Zahra, indicated that the opening of these two units as part of the 2023 program, with a capacity of welcoming 100 children, is the result of great efforts made by the Foundation and its partners, including the INDH and the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education of Skhirat-Témara.

Furthermore, the manager stressed that the Foundation supervises 184 teaching units distributed across the prefecture of Skhirat-Témara, ensuring that rural areas are prioritized to accommodate them, given the strong demand recorded, adding that the educators working there have benefited from intensive training in order to familiarize themselves with new teaching techniques.

All these teaching units are managed by the FMPS, as part of a partnership with the Regional Human Development Committee (CRDH) and the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.

Preschool is one of the four priority areas of the third phase of the INDH (2019-2023), in particular its 4th program relating to “boosting the human capital of rising generations”, which is structured around development early childhood, considered a crucial stage of personal development, allowing the individual to overcome obstacles linked to development, as part of a global and complementary approach with the various ministerial departments concerned.
