A new restaurant recently opened in the heart of Montreal’s action on Peel Street, and it could quickly become one of the city’s most popular spots, already attracting epicureans. With a menu designed by chef Walid Chouaref, you can enjoy dishes inspired by the Italian coasts at the brand new Sea Me, showcasing the delights of the sea.

From the moment you enter, you are immersed in a cozy and intimate atmosphere, designed by Guillaume Ménard, in collaboration with Zébulon Perron. Unlike some Mediterranean restaurants, here, there is no overabundance of rattan or details too evocative of the sea. The restaurant has a contemporary and sophisticated look, with light, neutral tones, rattan chairs and carefully integrated interior vegetation.

Despite the subdued atmosphere, the open kitchen allows customers to observe the team in action, adding a touch of transparency to the experience.

The menu will delight seafood lovers. As a starter, there is a refined selection with caviars from different origins, several raw fish options, as well as oysters from Prince Edward Island. or New Brunswick. Special mention to the oysters au gratin à la Frédérique, a real favorite that literally melts in the mouth.

Among the most luxurious options that will make you drool, we find the Lobster (a lobster garnished with burrata), grilled octopus, Beef fillet (500g beef fillet with bone), bucatini with mascarpone, caviar and clams or the European bass (Mediterranean bar). If the latter is shared, the service is carried out at the table. The Narcity team went there, and if there’s one dish that absolutely must be tasted on the menu, it’s this one. Cooking to perfection combined with the white butter that accompanies it, it’s simply a delight.

Moreover, if you love pasta, you will be delighted to learn that a selection of five dishes, including those with octopus, are offered for only $25. You’ll have to pay a dozen dollars more for one of their must-haves, the squid ink, sage and lobster ravioli.

Even if all the dishes on the menu are likely to catch your eye, you have to save room for dessert. The reinvented profiterole with ice cream and melted chocolate completely charmed me.
