When the firefighters intervened in his apartment on fire in Villiers-le-Bel (Val-d’Oise) during the night of Saturday October 12 to Sunday October 13, 2024, they discovered the octogenarian who was no longer breathing, victim of a cardiac arrest.

The firefighters immediately provided him with first aid, managing to resuscitate the octogenarian which was then evacuated in absolute emergency to Percy hospital, in (Hauts-de-Seine).

Eleven residents evacuated, 33 firefighters mobilized

The alert was given at 5:40 a.m. The fire broke out in the accommodation located on the ground floor of a four-story building, rue Michelet. Two lances were deployed by the 33 firefighters mobilized to put out the flames.

They also evacuated eleven other residents. Slightly intoxicated by the fumes, two of them were transported in a relative emergency to the hospital.

A police investigation was opened to determine the origin of the fire which was not yet known this Sunday.
