The new Pistes district should give another cultural dimension to the city. The company Arachnée Concerts is working on the future entertainment complex focused on cuisine and shows with a new room with 1,600 seats.
Dn the large Halle F4, a beautiful project is under construction: the so-called “2 Friends” project which will require a budget of 20 million euros to create an entertainment complex focused on culinary and entertainment with a new concert hall. 1,600 seats.
The company Arachnée Concerts, based in Clermont-Ferrand, which has been organizing shows and concerts in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region for more than 30 years, is part of this project.
Lack
“We lacked equipment in Clermont-Ferrand, which would allow us to continue to enrich and diversify the cultural programming offering in Auvergne,” explained Charline Pouzet, co-director of Arachnée concerts. The schedules of existing rooms, called intermediate rooms (less than 2,000 seated people), are in fact often at saturation; which makes it very difficult for us to host artist residencies, shows in creation or in progress and to imagine programming them several days in a row. Due to lack of availability, we have missed out on superb projects several times. »
Four years ago our room construction project was born. To do this, Arachnée Concerts has surrounded itself with private, expert and complementary partners:
– Catherine and Denis Thominet, founders of the Palais Omnisports de Bercy, current owners and operators of the Palais des Sports Dôme de Paris and the Théâtre du 13e art, Place d’Italie.
– Olivier Peyronnaud, director of the Théâtre du 13e art.
– Luc Gaurichon, producer of the company Caramba Culture Live.
– Remy Vedeux and Pierre Pochon of the company V2 IMMO, real estate developers.
“Together we will build this facility with 1,600 seats, modular and perfectly equipped,” continues Charline Pouzet. It will allow us to host around a hundred shows each year. Some will be born in Clermont-Ferrand before going on tour in France and abroad. Productions and their artists will find an excellent working tool here. Our eclectic programming (song, humor, dance, theater) will be aimed at all audiences, welcomed in optimal conditions of comfort. This place will also be privatized and will make it possible to organize seminars, corporate events, etc. And in the summer, it will be dedicated to hosting immersive exhibitions. »
Unique concept
This room is part of the project carried out by the collective Les 2 Amis, which presents itself as the entertainment agency for the Pistes district. This equipment will see the light of day at the same time as a new third place designed by Gilles Jumaire (co-founder of the Halles de la Cartoucherie in Toulouse) and a restaurant based on cuisines from around the world, a unique concept imagined by Didier Veillault (director of the May Cooperative for more than twenty years).
