The Olympic Aquatic Center (93), an Olympic heritage opposite the Stade de France

After many months of work, the Aquatics Center will be built in 2024. One of the only sites specially built for the 2024 Olympic Games, it will allow residents of the department to benefit from facilities dedicated to swimming. .

THE Olympic Aquatics Center is one of the very rare sports equipment built exclusively for Paris 2024 Olympic Gamesa legacy for the inhabitants of Seine-Saint-Denis, department in which one child in two does not know how to swim when entering middle school. Located a stone’s throw from the Stade de , to which it is connected by a footbridge spanning the motorway, it will host the diving, water polo and artistic swimming.

It was also supposed to accommodate swimming events, but was ultimately too small, so the events were sent back to Paris La Défense Arena. Before becoming an aquatic center, this space was occupied by the Engie research center and the Landy gas factory which supplied gas to the Paris region. From July 2025the site will be accessible to the population for school sessions, sports and leisure swimming and diving, but also a fitness area and team sports fields.

With his basin of 10 lines waterits diving pool and its 2,500-seat grandstand, the CAD will be able to host international competitions, in particular the 2026 European swimming championships. Thanks to its movable floor allowing the depths to be varied, the Aquatic Center will be able to adapt to the diversity of uses! It will also serve as a high-level center for French athletes with the Pôle France Plongeon.

The shape of the center is particular, with the largest concave wooden catena frame in the world. A low-carbon facility, the Aquatic Center is entirely designed in bio-sourced materials, with a roof covered in photovoltaic panels, becoming one of the largest urban solar farms in the country.

To get to the golf course, you can take the lines 13 and 14 from the metro and get off at the stations St DenisTHE RER lines B and D to the Stade de France station as well as the tram T8 at Saint-Denis – Porte de Paris station.
