It’s a struggle won in the suffering.

Following the mobilization of elected officials and residents against the removal of line no. 2 on the Kéolis nord Val-d’Oise network, Île-de- mobilities (Idfm) announced that a minimum service would be maintained.

Since April 8, line No. 2, which connects Montsoult to Persan via Belloy-en-France, Mareil-en-France, Montsoult, Saint-Martin-du-Tertre and Villaines-sous-, was not going more than until Viarmes.

Chantal Romand, mayor of Mareil-en-France and vice-president of the Carnelle – Pays-de-France Community of Communes.

Friday April 5, left without news since last December, the elected officials “discovered that leaflets announcing the closing of the line from Monday April 8 (first day of school holidays) are distributed to users on board the buses.

After an initial promise to have two buses in the morning and evening on weekdays, as well as on Wednesday lunchtime, the authority responsible for these transport by bus had finally reversed this decision.

“It’s dishonest,” said the elected official, before the decision was made to maintain it.

Something promised, something due

A petition was also launched online.

More than 3,000 people signed it.

“We must correct the mistake. Sometimes, even when we take a bad decisionwe can go back,” underlines the councilor.

Friday April 19, the good news fell. Idfm announced a partial maintenance of the line, with buses in the morning and evening on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, as well as in the morning and at midday on Wednesdays.

A big sigh of relief for the elected officials, the parentsTHE students and the inhabitants of these rural territories for the most part.

” This line is very important for the territory of our intermunicipality”, explains the Carnelle – Pays-de-France Community of Communes.

A demonstration was to be organized on Monday April 22 in Viarmes, but it was canceled following the announcement of maintenance of the bus line.

There line 1304 will be extended to cover the route of the old line no. 2. Until mid-May, users will have to make a change at Viarmes (Fréchot stop) and take line 100 to reach Persan/Beaumont-sur-Oise.

During the matchesthe safety of travelers will be ensured by the carrier (Keolis).
