Descriptive text here

Father Jean-Paul Gruau was born on April 13, 1934 in and died on April 22, 2024 in Laval, at the age of 90.

He was first in Algeria at the time of the conflicts and was ordained a priest on September 11, 1960. He liked to testify to his happiness at being a priest. My Source of happiness comes from the fact that the priest is constantly a being of encounter, with God, and with the men and women to whom he goes or who come to him.

After having been a teacher successively at the minor seminary of Laval, at the Saint-Michel college of Château-Gontier, in 1985, he joined the diocesan catechesis service and is facilitator of school pastoral care. In 1997, he was appointed parish priest of Saint-Pierre de Changé, with particular responsibility for student chaplaincy.

In 2013, Father Jean-Paul Gruau left Changé and was appointed auxiliary priest at the Trinité-Avesnières-Cordeliers parish. He lives in Laval.

Medalist from the city of Changé

Olivier Richefou, the mayor at the time, presented him with the City medal in September 2013. I have excellent memories of Father Gruau who was very involved, lived in the town and was close to his parishioners. He left his mark on the town and he maintained relationships of great trust and quality with the municipality.

A parishioner, Marinette Burlett, confides: “Father Gruau was very attentive and listened to everyone. »

The funeral of Father Jean-Paul Gruau will be held at Laval Cathedral on Saturday April 27, 2024 at 2 p.m.
