After the success of the first season, it is logical that Wednesday will make its return through a second season. Netflix has just published a short video announcing the casting for this season 2. And there is a big surprise.

Return of the Addams Family

Since 1938, when Charles Addams creates The Addams Family, these famous characters continue to return to the forefront. After numerous television series over time, the filmmaker Barry Sonnenfield features two excellent films The Addams Family in 1992 and 1993. These films have become cult and still contribute to the legacy of this license today.

Recently, the saga returned through a new series centered on Wednesday, the daughter of this brainless family. Produced by Tim Burtonthe series, released in 2022 on Netflix, met with immense success and projected the young actress Jenna Ortega in the front of the scene. Unsurprisingly, the platform has formalized a second season, expected at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

The casting is revealed

For this second season, Tim Burton is back in productionAlfred Gough and Miles Millar return as showrunners and Jenna Ortega obviously takes over the role of young Wednesday.

Netflix has just released a short video to announce the old and new names who will be joining this season 2. The cast of this season 2 of Wednesday therefore consists of Joy Sunday in Bianca, of Joanna Lumley as Grandma Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones back in Morticia, Emma Myers in Enid, of Billie Piper in Capri or even Thandiwe Newton in Dr. Fairburn.

But this promotional video (very well produced) has two surprises in store for us. The first is that the big Steve Buscemi joins the cast as Barry Dort. Renowned actor, who has notably filmed for Quentin Tarantino or the Coen brothersit’s a joy to see him join the adventure Wednesday. The other surprise lies in the presence of Christopher Lloyd.

The latter played Uncle Fetid in the two Barry Sonnenfield films. For the moment, we do not yet know the extent of his involvement or even the role he will play. One thing is certain, he will not take over the role of Uncle Fetid since he is held by Fred Armisen. In the manner of Christina Ricci in the first season, Christopher Lloyd will return to the universe of The Addams Family through a new role. Indeed, in season 1 Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill, while she had played little Wednesday years earlier in Sonnenfield’s two films.
