Construction of the 85-meter high Prilly tower has begun

Urban development in the commune of Prilly is in full swing. While the first wooden tower in French-speaking Switzerland is under construction at the Malley Lumières shopping center, just opposite, another major project is starting. This is the Tilia Tower, a 27-story skyscraper, 85 meters high. The building will include 221 housing units, a coliving of 160 units, work, leisure, music and sports spaces.

The laying of the first stone of this enormous tower, which aims to be exemplary in terms of sustainable development, took place on Thursday. Throughout the year, the operation of this new building should not emit more than 2.2kgC02/m2. “Tilia embodies an innovative vision of the urban city, where innovation, sustainability and well-being are at the heart of every aspect of the project,” says Esteban Garcia, project owner, quoted in a press release.

A file welcomed by the president of the Vaudois Council of State, Christelle Luisier Brodard, who underlines that such projects “are today essential to meet the needs of the population in terms of housing and mobility”.
