This sentence against Hervé Pinto is accompanied by several obligations:

  • to work
  • ban on going to certain plots of land in the Clouette district of Trois-Îlets
  • ban on approaching certain victims.

The president of the Kolektif Jistis Matinik was found guilty of moral harassment, threats and violence against holders of public authority.

However, he was acquitted for the charges of aggravated violence, carrying category D weapons due to a lack of sufficient evidence according to the judges, and disturbing the peace of others, this charge already being covered by the qualification of harassment. .

The civil party’s lawyers took note of this decision.

Mr Pinto appeared before the court for a series of offences. The offense to the detriment of the owners of Hameau de la Pagerie was upheld. In repression, Mr. Pinto was sentenced to a 15-month prison sentence, fully suspended on probation. This means that Mr. Pinto will be released from detention this evening under the obligations imposed on him, including the obligation to compensate the victims and not to go to the perimeter of the neighborhood in order to stop disturbing the community. life of the owners. so that they can try to resume a normal life. We take note of this. This is not about satisfaction. The trial was tense. It was held in difficult conditions.

Hervé Pinto had been detained in Ducos prison since March 10 for “non-compliance with the obligations linked to his judicial control and in particular the ban on going to the Hameau de la Pagerie, Clouette district in Trois-Îlets”according to the Prosecutor.

Tried since yesterday (Tuesday April 23), the president of Kolektif Jistis Matinik refused to appear in court this morning. The man, who contested all the accusations brought against him, denounced “a lack of impartiality” in that case.

To signal this, the latter decided to start a hunger strike. The hearing continued despite his absence.

For the record, Hervé Pinto is demanding the restitution of land he claims, in the Clouette district of Trois-Ilets.
