A new office for the Lot Equestrian Tourism Association

Its particular ambition is to continue to make the department an attractive territory for all horse trekkers.

Friday March 22, at 7 p.m., the general assembly of the Lot Equestrian Tourism Association (ATE Lot) was held in Labastide-Murat. Created in 1969, ATE Lot has worked for more than fifty years to promote and develop equestrian tourism in the department in partnership with the Departmental Council and the Tourist Development Agency. A new office was elected by the assembled members, equestrian tourism professionals, independent riders, representatives of partner associations or accommodation providers welcoming hikers throughout the year.

Among its main actions, the ATE Lot represents the department at various specialized shows including the Angers, Avignon and Albi horse shows, the next edition of which will take place from March 29 to 31, 2024. The Lot is recognized in France as a leading destination, even a pioneer, in terms of horseback riding. With more than 1,400 km of trails, well-marked circuits, particularly diverse landscapes and a network of certified accommodation, the department attracts several hundred horse hikers each year. Thanks to its partnership with the Tourist Development Agency, the ATE Lot is a major contributor to the development and maintenance of these circuits. At the same time, the association also offers training to its members and allows many stakeholders to meet regularly to implement new projects.

Beyond the support granted by the Departmental Council, the association operates today mainly thanks to the voluntary investment of its members. The new office, chaired by Jeremy Durand, co-manager of the equestrian tourism center Le Mas de Peyrelongue in Corn, aims to further energize the association, carry out new projects and continue to make the Lot an attractive area for all horseback riders.
