And in the end it’s the Frenchies who win. On Sunday, 2 topped the evening’s audiences with the first broadcast of “I love what you do”. This French comedy by Philippe Guillard with the duo Gérard Lanvin – Artus attracted 3.56 million viewers on average until 10:40 p.m., according to Médiamétrie. The market share is 18.9% for the entire public aged 4 and over in front of their television. It is only 13.2% of women under 50 responsible for purchasing (FRDA-50), proof that the cinema evening brought together a rather older audience.

TF 1 follows with a new film too: “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”, third part of the wizarding saga, written by JK Rowling. This American blockbuster by David Yates, carried by Eddie Redmayne who shares the bill with Jude Law, Mads Mikkelsen, Jessica Williams, Dan Fogler attracted 3.06 million people on average until 11:35 p.m., or 19% of the overall public. But the market share climbs to 33.5% on the FRDA-50, which suggests an excellent evening for the front page from the point of view of its advertising revenue.

“Hudson and Rex” stronger than “Capital”

France 3 is on the last step of the podium with “Hudson and Rex”. The three episodes of the Canadian detective television series brought together 1.8 million curious people, or 10.5% of the public (and only 1.6% of the FRDA-50). Enough to get ahead of M 6 and its new issue of “Capital” magazine. This week Julien Courbet was interested in the weakness of public services in the regions, which only intrigued 1.68 million people, or 9.5% of PDA (and 16.8% of FRDA-50).

A few days before the start of the 2024 Film Festival, cinema was popular on television this Sunday evening with three films offered by TNT channels following. The most watched of these is “The Year of the Dragon”, a detective film by Michael Cimino directed by Mickey Rourke, broadcast on Arte. 920,000 moviegoers were there, or 5.3% audience share. The Franco-German channel is ahead of “Le grand Pardon” on C8 (4.5%) and “The Rock” on W 9 (3.5%).
