Princes, counts, barons, ladies and knights… the fine flower of the Belgian aristocracy met in Taroudant, at the foot of the Moroccan Atlas, at the end of May, to celebrate the union of Estelle Hanet and Prince Aurèle de Merode. Two days of magic, in the scent of Thousand and one Night.
The invitation cards, lovely watercolors, announce the atmosphere: jacket and hat for the nuptial blessing and the banquet “under the palm trees”; oriental elegance for the “Moroccan magic”, on the terraces of the house; light colors, the next day, for the “Berber lunch”. The party takes place in El Oued, in Taroudant, domain of Baron and Baroness Gillion Crowet, the maternal grandparents of Aurèle, where Mr. and Mrs. Philippe Hanet, and Prince and Princess Amaury de Merode invite for the wedding of their children. Already the spring sun is burning the gullied banks of the dry torrent, whose heat contrasts with, in the distance, the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas.
