A wind of scandal is blowing over Disney’s enchanted kingdom and its new adaptation of The little Mermaid. After wiping the worst start ever in the asian market, a new controversy is raging. It seems that the American firm has unwittingly hired an adult film actor to play in the film. Stefano Tomadini, known under the pseudonym of Dante Ferrari, a London actor of Italian origin, had been chosen to play a fish man.

What Disney didn’t know was that Stefano had shot videos for a porn site, content that is still accessible today. But since the controversy broke out, the actor has set his Instagram account to private, presumably to avoid prying eyes. One of his stories has already been saved where we see him on the set of the film (on the left of the photo).

“It’s a little embarrassing for Disney”

According to sources close to the shooting, Disney had decided to hire male models with advantageous physique to embody the “mermen”, the fish men of the Atlantica kingdom. The casting directors thought this would attract the attention of adult audiences while maintaining an appropriate tone for a film aimed at children.

Unfortunately, no one at Disney had made the connection between Stefano, the Italian actor, and Dante Ferrari, the porn star with fiery performances. “They had no idea about Stefano’s videos and, given that The Little Mermaid is the big blockbuster of the summer for kids, it’s a little awkward for Disney”details an anonymous source to the newspaper The Sun.

For the moment, Disney has not officially communicated on the situation but there is no doubt that the firm would have gone well with this new controversy around the film, which nevertheless obtains 94% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
