The new exhibition, presented until March 29 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. by Médialudo in association with the Odyssud exhibition room, has a pun title, “At heart, reinventing the world”, which refers to to… hackers. The organizers specify: “The name hacker has a pejorative connotation in the collective imagination, but we want to discover the positive side of hacking, its philosophy. Taken in the good sense of the word, we ultimately realize that it covers a lot of good things : the spirit of sharing, collective intelligence, diversion…”
The room, plunged into darkness, is divided into several zones. Near the entrance, tables equipped with laptop PCs will host the workshops. At the back, a small partitioned space filled with various devices, the work of Xano Martinez from the Proyectarium collective, is reminiscent of the famous cabinet of curiosities that he installed in this same room a few years ago. There you will find zoetropes, a repurposed barrel organ and many small objects to manipulate.
The highlight of the exhibition will take place on Tuesday March 11 at 6 p.m., at the exhibition hall and at the Odyssud brasserie, during a meeting with the artists and round table with Raphaël Bergère, visual artist, Xano Martínez and Marie Poitrimolt, fabmanager of the MJC des Arts. This intense moment will be followed by a drink serving as the opening.
The public, from 10 years old, will be able to participate in 2 workshops led by the artists, “Bricology and artistic hacking” with Raphaël Bergère (Wednesday January 29, Saturday February 8 and Wednesday February 19, Saturday March 29) and “Do It Yourself” workshop with Xano on Saturday March 8, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. upon registration at the exhibition hall. The facilitators will offer other DIY workshops on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the exhibition hall, for all audiences. Numerous digital events will complete the event, upon registration at Médialudo: Gaming Wednesday January 29, video editing Wednesday February 5, digital story time Wednesday March 12, makey-makey Wednesday March 19 and laser cutting Saturday May 10.
