Supported by their new album Maison Maquis, Ava Carrère and Ismaël Colombani continue to redraw the contours of French song.
As part of the Les Givrées festival, the Franco-American-Greek-Corso-Brussels duo Sages comme des Sauvages arrives in Millau this January 25 for an exceptional concert at the Salle Senghor. Supported by their new album Maison Maquis, Ava Carrère and Ismaël Colombani continue to redraw the contours of French song with a unique and resolutely daring style.
Known for their intense stage performances, these real stage beasts brilliantly mix world music, raï, Occitan folk and Afro-Cuban electro rhythms. Maison Maquis, co-directed by Dakou (Tschegue, The YD), is enriched with prestigious collaborations with Sofiane Saidi, the Occitan collective San Salvador and the talented MPL.
Ava, a self-taught visual artist and musician, and Ismaël, a poly-instrumentalist violinist, combine their cosmopolitan worlds to offer a show that is both funny, moving and overflowing with communicative energy. Their sound, enhanced by captivating vocal harmonies, promises to thrill Millau in an unforgettable finale. Meet on January 25 at 8:30 p.m., at the Maison du Peuple theater in Millau, for a musical journey without borders.
