As part of the TER (rural educational territory) of Castagniccia, the CDC book service is organizing with the Castagniccia media library a residency for authors of dark novels within the Henri Tomasi college in the first half of 2025. This involves support middle school students in writing a short story in the “thriller” genre and featuring the industrial heritage of the micro-region, including, of course, the tannin factory.
The idea is that the students investigate within their own families to bring back the working memory of this territory and use these anecdotes to write a book which can subsequently be used by the Intercommunal Tourist Office to promote original visits. of the territory (along the Fium’ Altu).
The book service associated the Heritage Department with this project so that agents could quickly present the work and existing documentation on the industrial heritage of the micro-gerions to the two authors, as well as to the children. Beyond the historical content, it will also be an opportunity for these agents to present their profession (echoing the thoughts of the 4th grade students on their professional orientation).
The associated authors are Michèle Pedinielli (editions de l’Aube) and Marion Brunet (PKJ, Albin Michel). Michèle Pedinielli, of Corsican origin, has written half a dozen thrillers and as many successes. She received the Bleu du thriller prize for her novel set in Corsica in 2021 (the Patience of the Immortelle). Marion Brunet, an author for both children and adults, is even better known and appreciated by the public. She was nominated for the Youth Nobel Prize in 2024.
The project is coordinated by the “La Mutinerie” agency, based in Nantes. Founded and directed by Guillaume Le Cornec (author himself and publisher), Mutinerie is a structure which offers an approach entirely centered on the systematic narration of cultural facts through fiction and literature, and particularly, through the literature of youth.

INVESTIGATION IN CASTAGNICCIA.
A STORY ELABORATED FOR THE PROFIT FOR THE PROFIT OF THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE OF CASTAGNICCIA.

This short novel could in fact tell a story within a detective fiction of the history of the territorial media library of Castagniccia but also go beyond this first framework to take the reader into a sort of road movie allowing the Heritage of the area to be documented. region: the tannin factories, the know-how and the architecture of Castagniccia…
Generally, La Mutinerie offers a methodology which offers participating students the opportunity to take on, on the one hand, the costume of the author and, on the other hand, the costume of the publisher.
Several sessions over a week will be necessary to develop this “NOVELLA” in its final form.
In January 2025, the media library will organize meetings with students to provide documentation from its collections, as well as the intervention of a manager from the CDC Heritage Department.
From February 10 to 14: During the first two days, the students, supported by the authors, will document the story, develop the narrative architecture (the synopsis) and create the character bible. Once this work is completed, the authors write the text.
The last two days will be devoted to editorial work (front and back covers, illustrations), and the presentation of the book professions.
