The Anost Old Town Festival returns for a 48th edition

The 48th edition of the festival will enliven the streets of Anost, in Saône-et-, from Friday August 22 to Sunday August 24, 2025.

Under the Morvan sun, the La MAChine quartet (yes, like the Nivernaise commune), the Sources quintet, Voden, Trencadit, Guilhem Desq, FMR, Caniar, La Pibole, La Vignerie, Le Galant Suspended, Duo Taziere, and so many Other musicians have already been announced by the Union of groups and minstrels of Morvan (UGMM), organizers of the event.

Make no mistake, this multi-generational festival does not only give space to the eponymous instrument, but also to a whole range of traditional music put forward by the UGMM. In Anost, traditional Burgundian music will mix with that from the four corners of , but also from elsewhere.

Thousands of festival-goers gathered

Like every year, nearly 150 volunteers will bring the event to life with several dozen activities over the four days. Concerts, courses, balls, open stages, introductions to traditional dances, hurdy-gurdy courses (introductory and advanced), bagpipes, conferences, shows, Bourrée courses and Morvan couple dances, young talent competition, violin makers’ market and the “off” from the festival with oxen will bring life to the streets of Anost. Dozens of groups, some international, will thrill the thousands of expected festival-goers.

Before its climax, this summer, with the Fête de la vielle, the UGMM first invites its public, from Friday May 23 to Sunday May 25, 2025, for the 24th Printemps de l’Auxois, in Pouilly en Auxois and Vitteaux, in Côte-d’Or.
